I
PhilosophyTeaching is the practice.
Saying it out loud sharpens what you do silently. Curriculum design and masterclasses are not adjacent to the studio work — they are the same work, articulated. Every lesson plan is a chance to redraw the map of a room I've been moving through for years.
The aim is not to graduate juniors-of-me. It is to give young engineers, producers, and writers the language and the patience to listen to their own records the way a professional listens to records — and the technique to fix what they hear.
I've contributed more than 1,700 volunteer hours mentoring young artists, engineering sessions, and developing curriculum across Tennessee. Field notes, 2025
II
ProgramsThe programs.
Three running engagements — a masterclass, a songwriting series, and a long-running summer camp.
Dynamo Studios Audio Engineering Masterclass
Co-host and Mixing Instructor. Hands-on masterclass series teaching the mechanics of a session — gain staging, signal flow, and the listening discipline that turns a good rough into a finished mix.
Songbirds Foundation Songwriting Masterclass
Songwriting Assistant. Working one-on-one with student writers to develop melodies, lyrics, and arrangement choices — turning rough ideas into finished demos over the run of the program.
Dynamo Studios A/V Summer Camp
Head Counselor and Intern. Four summers building the camp's curriculum and running the floor — over 1,500 documented volunteer hours across recording, production, and live A/V instruction for camp students.
